About Nicky Simons

Nicky Simons, the creator of Kids Kitchen, is a mum of two young energetic boys, with a passion for cooking and healthy eating. 

With a background in catering and event planning, Nicky has always loved being in the kitchen creating healthy meals and more importantly having fun experimenting with food. After completing a course in Cordon Bleu cookery Nicky ran her own successful 'outside catering' business. Following a break from the work place whilst she raised her children Nicky returned to the kitchen as a Tuckshop Convenor at a local primary school. Nicky developed a 'healthy eating' menu for the school offering home cooked food using the freshest ingredients. Together with a fantastic team of volunteers, the Tuckshop was recognised with a number of awards from the Queensland Association of School Tuckshops. 

Nicky would like to pass on her skills to the children and show them just how quickly and easily they can learn to cook and create delicious tasting food. 

Nicky holds a 'Cordon Bleu' diploma in cooking as well as a Food Safety Supervisor certificate. She is also a fully qualified First Aider and a Bluecard holder.
